How to set employees up for success in 2021

Working in HR may just be conformed to documents and policies, but it is more than that. They also have the function of putting out the notice that employees are supposed to understand that they need to be productive in their work. And how do we do that? Through internet usage policy. Why should we implement an IUP? First and foremost, even if you have noble intentions behind your policy, the presentation can go south if you do not craft it properly. You cannot tell your employees that you do not trust them, hence the legal documents. That can, and will, create negative energy around the company leading to either people leaving the company or suffering loss. Rather, the IUP is for encouraging and equipping employees with efficiency measures and giving their best. So when crafting the policy, consider and decide the type of restrictions you can implement that will not demoralize a person but rather make them productive. Also, through this policy, you are equipping a person with the work they should expect and protecting them from being discredited in the future.

The internet usage policy should be both flexible and grant some freedom to the employees. It would be seen extremely unfair if a person cannot tend to personal issues while working on the clock. People need breaks, so the restrictions from some applications can be lifted for a certain period or not have any restrictions at all. How you treat your workers and draw out your internet usage policy speaks a mile about the company culture. So consider these points while planning out the policy. As for how to implement the policy to the employees, take that very seriously. Some companies even organize training sessions to make the people familiar with the policy. So do not just stack them with other papers. Also, leave room for questions as communication is the key.
